It is like the Parisian pronunciation of un. Pronounce the ë while nasalizing it. é..... pain, erase, later éñ.... nasal of é. Say the é while nasalizing it. No equivalent in English or French. eñ.... same as añ above except for the words beñ and señ where the sound is like iñ, as described below. f..... from, if, stuff g..... go, again, gag h..... high, ahoy!, he i..... eat, Peter, bee iñ ....nasal of the e (as in pet). Say e while making it nasal and you arrive with the French sound, -in, as in Tintin, prochain, demain j..... pleasure, treasure, garage k.....joke, magic, Japan l..... land, element, milk m..... mother, simple, might µ..... this Greek M (mu), is used to nasalize the vowel before it, just as the ñ does. aµ is pronounced exactly the same as añ. adaµ, lazëriµ, ydeciµ n..... son, nocturn, notice ñ..... as noted above, the ñ makes the peceeding vowel nasal. o..... poll, over, soda ö.....this letter is pronounced like an o with a trailing ë. It is a dipthong so is not pronounced as 2 separate vowels. The ë gently releases the termination of this vowel. oñ.... the nasal of the o (as in poll), such as the French words: pont, ton, oncle ou.... food, asume, pool ouñ... nasal of ou. There is no equivalent in English or French. Say ou while nasalizing it. p..... person, ape, ripe r..... a soft r , rather like Hebrew or French. The tongue lies totally flat while the back of the throat produces this sound. rotzeh, yisrael, apartement, arriver x .....a rolled Italian or Spanish r. Paraguay, Roma, arrivederci. (In Southern Venticello, the x is pronounced like the Hebrew or Scottish CH. chanukah,, echad, loch s..... send, assign, plaster sh.... she, mesh, fishing t..... test, sit, master th.... this, either, though (but not the th sound as in thin, through, with) u..... French u, as in tu, superbe, pure. Put your mouth in the position to pronounce oo (as in pool), but say ee (as in see). uñ ....nasal of u. No equivalent in English or French. v......vest, avocado, Venticello w.....wild, wisdom, winter x.....(see above after the letter 'r') y.....yes, mayor, yam Note: the y is always a consonent and never a vowel. It is not pronounced 'ee'. In Tapissary, the y is often next to another consonent which produces unusual sound qualities. ex: ytalmi, ydagër, yvañ. It almost sounds like a gentle sh. z.....zebra, easy, pose '..... This is the glottal stop as is found in Arabic and Hebrew.
