"a sculpted village, a silent language, the paintings around them"
|
| Dec 1999 to Feb 2000 at Barnsdall Art Center, Los Angeles, Calif. |
| This was my first solo exhibit. The curator had visited my work space and assembled those pieces she felt best fit into a theme. She took items from my clay city (Venticello), the language I had invented (Tapissary), and paintings I had done. Being brought together, they portrayed a "culture". This was the first time I had seen a composition based on my various 'hobbies'. Show cased behind glass windows, and housed within Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, it was a memorable experience.
