On this page and the following one (see link below), are the chess pieces as they appeared in the exhibit. They were first placed at the base of the longest painting on a chess grid. From the north side of the gallery, they eventually migrated to the south side to cluster around a soldier painted onto an army stretcher, as seen in the photo above.
